With 14 000 ha of traversing area, Saseka’s tracker-guides have a lot to work with when it comes to game drives, but since they know the reserve so well, they know exactly where to look. Expect excellent and consistent game viewing where you’ll have opportunities to trail behind lions, join in and watch them hunt. You’ll find yourself snapping away in the middle of a herd of ellies!
While the members of the Big 5 are always great to see, there are so many other characters lurking in the reserve that are just as beautiful and fascinating. Get to know more about them on guided bush walks at Saseka where the guides rely on footprints, scat and other markings to track all sorts of creatures. Lace-up your stout heeled hiking boots and discover ‘the little guys’, from birds and reptiles to bugs and arachnids..not to mention a plethora of indigenous trees and plants.
During your stay at Saseka Tented Camp, you should take the opportunity to explore further afield – make your way along the Panorama Route for the day. Stop at a few waterfalls and gaze over the incredible Blyde River Canyon. Visit some of the rehabilitation centres like Moholoholo and the Kinyonga Reptile Centre or dare to mingle with some of the locals at one of the town’s many ‘watering-holes’ (aka restaurants and bars).
